Forum Topic: Finasteride and Generic Propecia Discussion
NickName123:I've noticed some questions about this topic. I'm a bit confused about whether Propecia or Finasteride are the best choice for me. I read a lot here about generic Propecia but couldn't quite put my finger on whether this is right for me. I'm pretty new to the subject so I'm just hoping someone can provide some insights into this topic.
Doc:Hi, I've read several posts here asking about Finasteride and generic Propecia but nothing seems relevant here. Do you have any suggestions? I'm confused.
Thanks, Doc! I think I've read all the above posts but just curious if anyone has any experiences with these medications. I've been using them for a while now but haven't had any problems.
Great question, NickName123! This is a great medication that is used to treat hair loss in men. Its been shown to slow hair loss in men by a lot! I've heard of some people using Propecia to get some results but it's not that popular. Is it possible to get it in the US or is it just a case of switching?
Yes, Doc!
You're right, NickName123! It's not like I'm going to take a pill with Propecia, but it's an option!
Thanks a lot, Doc! I'll give it a try. I'll start with a small sample before taking any further tests. The results will be good in a week or so.
Good luck, NickName123!
Great question, Doc. Thanks again, Doc.
Well, I found it to be a bit frustrating. I've been on finasteride for a few months and just decided to try generic Propecia for the first time. I thought it was just for research purposes, but my doctor prescribed it as it was a better option. It's been great so far, I hope it works for me too. If anyone has any further questions or advice on switching or stopping their medication or taking it, I recommend them to talk to their doctor about making sure that they're getting the best results from their treatment plan.
Thanks for all the advice and information! I'll definitely try it out! It's good to hear that I'm not alone in my concerns. I've been using Propecia for a few years now and it has helped with hair loss in men. I've noticed that I get some results when taking finasteride but it can sometimes take longer to see results.
It's true that some men have issues with hair loss, but this medication has made a difference. I can't stress enough how important it is to get a full head of hair with finasteride. The fact that I'm still taking Propecia just means that it is more of a hassle to try and manage my hair loss and that I'm not alone in this. So, it's always best to stick with the medication and talk to your doctor about your options.
Thanks again for all the advice and information! I'll definitely try it out.
You're a smart one!
You're right. I definitely feel more comfortable using this as a treatment option than finasteride. It's not that I have to take the pill every day, but its definitely something to consider. Also, it's definitely an option for me, as I've noticed positive results with finasteride in my hair loss. Just be sure to stick with it as it's my favorite medication!
Good luck and thanks for all the info! Ill definitely stick with it for a while.
You're welcome, Doc. Stay healthy and healthy! Don't hesitate to reach out if you have further questions or need further assistance.
Finasteride is a type of 5α-reductase inhibitor. It is a 5α-reductase inhibitor that lowers levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is the main hormone that causes hair loss, and the level of DHT is significantly reduced in people who have prostate cancer. Finasteride lowers DHT levels by blocking the enzyme 5α-reductase, which converts testosterone into DHT. This reduces the level of DHT by about 10%, and thus decreases the likelihood of hair loss. Finasteride is also effective in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It works by increasing the production of DHT in the body. Finasteride also decreases the levels of the hormone testosterone and 5 alpha-reductase. This helps decrease prostate size, but it does not affect hair growth. It is recommended to use finasteride for at least six months before attempting to increase the dosage of hair loss medication.
As with any medication, there are potential side effects. The most common side effects are sexual dysfunction, such as:
Less common but more serious side effects can include decreased libido, decreased semen volume, and reduced ejaculation volume. These side effects are usually temporary and will subside with continued use. If you experience any of these symptoms while taking Finasteride, stop taking Finasteride and contact your doctor immediately.
If you are taking any of the following medications, you should consult your doctor about these risks:
Consult your doctor before taking Finasteride to determine if you should stop taking it.
When Finasteride is taken by mouth, the effects of the drug on hair growth are expected to last for an average of 6-8 months. Finasteride should not be taken for more than 6 months without consulting a doctor.
It is not known if Finasteride is associated with a higher risk of hair loss compared to other oral and topical treatments.
Finasteride can also cause sexual side effects such as decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and decreased semen volume. These effects are more likely to occur at the beginning of treatment and in the next several months.
Consult your doctor before taking Finasteride to determine if you should discontinue this medication.
Finasteride is not currently classified as a controlled substance. It is available by prescription only.
In clinical trials, the incidence of side effects was found to be lower than the rate in other clinical studies with Finasteride. Finasteride side effects may include decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and decreased semen volume. It is not known if these effects are related directly to Finasteride or to other medications or treatments.

Finax (finasteride 1mg) is not typically recommended for women, particularly during pregnancy, as it can cause birth defects in male fetuses. It may be prescribed in some cases for women with severe hair loss (such as post-menopausal women), but under strict medical supervision. Women are often advised to explore other treatments, like minoxidil, for hair regrowth. Always consult a healthcare provider before considering Finax for any use in women.

SAN ANTONIO – A new drug that’s been made available in the U. S. market for finasteride, a medication commonly used to treat and prevent hair loss, could make it even more popular in the U. today.
“There’s been a lot of talk about this as it’s been approved in the United States,” said Dr. Steven J. Schulman, a urologist and urology expert at the University of Pennsylvania. “We’re trying to keep the number of patients we see on the market, and that’s what we’re trying to do.”
In June, the FDA approved two new oral medications that are available in the U. and also have more favorable side effects, Dr. Schulman said.
“This could be a big game-changer for the treatment of hair loss,” said Dr. Schulman, who also serves on the FDA advisory panel that recommended approving the drugs.
The new finasteride pill, known as dutasteride, is approved for use in both men and women who have certain forms of male pattern baldness, such as an enlarged prostate, enlarged breasts and enlarged scalps. The drug was originally developed to treat high blood pressure and to prevent hair loss in men, but it didn’t have FDA approval until a decade ago.
The first of the new drugs, approved on June 18, has a generic version that’s been available as the generic version of dutasteride. It’s the first drug that’s been available in the U. without a generic version. The generic version of dutasteride was originally developed to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia and is now available as a generic.
Dutasteride is the active ingredient in the prescription-strength version of the drug. It’s effective in reducing hair loss and promoting hair growth in men with androgenic alopecia, or male pattern hair loss.
The other two new oral finasteride pills are dutasteride and vivax.
“It’s very exciting to see how this medication can be marketed, and that this will have a big impact,” said Dr. Schulman, who is chief of urology and gynecology at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. “The FDA has approved the approval of these two drugs, but it’s important to know that it’s just going to make people more comfortable with their treatment.”
Dr. Schulman said he’s not surprised that people are more comfortable with this drug.
“I think it’s great for people, but I think it’s great for patients,” he said. “It’s great for patients who are interested in other ways to treat their hair loss.”
He said it’s also good for patients who are on medications that can make hair loss worse or grow hair faster than normal. That’s because some of these medications can make the hair loss process easier, so you don’t have to be a doctor to take them. And that’s good for patients who need to take them daily.
“People who have some hair loss, they can take these pills,” Dr. “Some of them are more effective than others.”
The drugs are not being used by women, but the Food and Drug Administration approved them for use in men with an enlarged prostate.
“That’s a big step for the FDA to approve these medications,” Schulman said. “It’s a huge step in the right direction, and it’s a big step in the right direction that’s going to improve the lives of those who can benefit from this treatment.”
